The orchestral arrangements for this concert of E.S.T.´s music have been written by Swedish conductor and arranger Hans Ek. Together with the Stockholm Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and artists like Robyn, Ane Brun, Ola Salo, Laleh, First Aid Kit and Barbara Hendricks he has arranged and performed music by price winners Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Björk, Paul Simon, Enio Morricone, Patti Smith and The Kronos Quartet.
During his career as a drummer Magnus Öström played with a wide range of Swedish bands and artists such as Bobo Stenson, Lennart Åberg, Palle Danielsson, Svante Thuresson, Nils Landgren, Stina Nordenstam, Peter Gullin, Steve Dobrogosz, Lars Danielsson, but he also performed with many international stars such as Michelle Hendricks, Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Mulgrew Miller, Buster Williams, Roy Hargrove, Stefon Harris, Pat Metheny, Alan Pasqua, Tigran Hamasyan and others.
He is best known for the 15 years of collaboration with Esbjörn Svensson and Dan Berglund in the hugely successful band E.S.T. Magnus Öström is considered one of the style-building drummers of his generation.
Dan Berglund played bass in many different bands like the “Fredrik Norén Band”, “Lina Nyberg”, “Louise Hoffsten”, and “Per Texas Johansson” before he joined E.S.T. in 1993.
Since the dissolution of E.S.T. Dan Berglund has become member of Swedish indie-rock/progressive jazz ensemble Tonbruket, which has won the Swedish Jazz Grammies with two consecutive albums.
